Twilight Silhouettes with Gail Lawther.

12 Jul

On Friday we spent a very enjoyable day with Gail Lawther, an award-winning quilter and teacher, working on her Twilight Silhouettes.  It was so superbly organised and well taught that all of us went home with something nearly finished. From the requirements list to the worksheets provided on the day and the element of choice to personalise it, a fabulous day to be recommended.

Thank you Gail!

AGM 2017 and Summer Lunch.

An excellent Summer Lunch was enjoyed by all at our 2017 AGM. A big thank you to all the committee and especially Caroline Leonard, Helen Morgan and Catherine Macey. The food was delicious.

After lunch speaker Gail Lawther talked to us about a varied selection of her work from stained glass techniques to landscape. She is inspired by birds and landscape and her talk was much enjoyed and the work greatly admired.

We all loved this Penguin Party Quilt.

Stunning work!

The votes had been counted and this year the Wendy Surridge Challenge was won by Wendy Floyd with her clever miniature quilt.

Wendy also brought along a Signature Quilt that her group are working on, to give to the brave policeman stabbed in the London Bridge terror attack. The quilt will be on display on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th August at the Festival of Quilts.
