Getting in the Mood!

3 Dec

Our trip to Midsummer Quilting was a delight. A lovely place to visit in a rural setting the shop is out in the country in old farm buildings in Chilcompton 10 miles from Bath and 16 from Bristol.  Before, during or after your shopping you are invited to relax in easy chairs, and enjoy a cup of  tea, coffee and a biscuit. They have over 3000 fabrics to chose from with a large haberdashery and a book section. It’s well worth a visit.

American Museum Bath

Our next port of call was to the American Museum. We went on a journey through the history of America from early settlers to the twentieth century. The quilt display is amazing.

This stunning dazzling Christmas tree is seen from above in the Central Hall with decorations inspired by the Jazz Age.

In the Folk Art room we were all inspired by this different Christmas tree, with all of it’s decorations hand made by the volunteers who help in the museum. From knitted chains and strings of pom poms to tapestry and patchwork, it shows that you don’t have to buy decorations. It was lovely!
