What an interesting, busy start to the New Year it was for the first meeting back. We had Show and Tell, with an amazing quantity and variety of different things. Then a delicious soup and roll lunch to raise money for our charity the next year, Tenovus! Finishing off with a stunning display of work from talented quilter, speaker and tutor Cecilia Slinn. Cecilia lives in Montgomery on the border of England and Wales looking out over The Offa’s Dyke Path. We were a little worried that she wouldn’t be able to travel to South Wales in January if the weather was bad but mother nature was on our side and what a treat we had. Cecilia has a real passion for Free Motion Quilting and loves quilting Wholecloths; Vintage and Art Pieces amongst a variety of other quilting and patchwork techniques. Teaching is another passion and we are hoping to get her back in the not too distant future to share some of her skills.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and more to follow throughout the year!
