Important note from YCSA  Please be aware that Ystradowen Village Hall have been granted permission to build an annex onto the hall. Funding for this will come from the YCSA, planning gain monies from the recent new housing developments in the village and funding from the EU.  There are detailed plans in the hall for you to view; it will be built on the north end of the hall and occupy part of the existing car park.  We have also secured additional land for car parking (thanks to the generosity of the landowner John Philips) which will be between the 5 a side football area and the church grave-yard.

Work is expected to start this month, we are hoping that the work should cause minimal disruption to hall users; we’ve asked to be made aware of any noisy activities in advance for example so that we can advise you.  We do ask for your understanding while building takes place.

However, we will be losing part of the car park while work takes place.  For smaller groups this probably will not affect you, however, for larger groups it certainly will – there will not be enough parking spaces!

So we ask that:-

  • You do NOT park in the pub car park without asking their permission first.
  • Instead of driving to the hall perhaps consider walking if you are local enough.
  • Can you car share?
  • If you do have to bring your car, can you park up blocking each other in – this will save a lot of spaces and as you’ll all be leaving at more or less the same time, minimal inconvenience.
  • You’ll also need to park during the day so as to not get in the way of any contractors vehicles entering or leaving.

If you have any news that you would like to share please email Corinne Roberts: glamquilt@gmail.com

I will be happy to put it in the Newsletter and Blog.

See you all on Saturday!

Doors open at 11 o’clock.

Best wishes

Corinne
