GQ Christmas Tree Sparkles in Holy Cross Church

24 Nov

The Glamorgan Quilters festive Christmas tree is now up with many others in the Holy Cross Church, Cowbridge.

2014 Christmas tree

The tree this year has new lights giving it that extra sparkle. It is also trimmed with ribbon measuring tape and a flurry of hand made decorations reflecting the quilters touch!

Many thanks to those who made decorations which look delightful – and thanks to Jeannie Duncan Farr who has made a tree skirt which adds that finishing touch!

Don’t forget to go and take a peek when you are passing by the church.

Sew Crazy Saturday

3 May

Today, Glamorgan Quilters enjoyed another happy, relaxed and enjoyable day sewing. There was also plenty of chatter!

As ever there was a wide variety of quilts and crafts to show off.

Jeannie and Jane were beavering away in the corner. Jeannie was sewing tiny hexagons made from some delightful printed fabrics.

Isobelle was using some fabric she recently painted to make a desert landscape.

Hilary was busy making brooches with her daisy loom.

And Monica was making Scottie dogs for Christmas! You can never start too soon with the festive activities apparently.

Florence Rose Fabrics were also trading – there were some lovely Kaffe Fassett and Amy Butler fabrics to buy!

And in the little room there was a small group being tutored by Sonia Fox, which looked fascinating, if not a little complicated to the uninitiated!
