Fundraising Event a Great Success

9 Jun

on 6 June, Glamorgan Quilters member Julia Fulford, organised a day sewing at Ystradowen Village Hall to raise money for The Quilters Guild of The Bristish Isles museum.

Lunch was provided with plenty of tea/coffee and home made cakes. The choice was incredible and all freshly prepared by a small band of willing helpers.

Many, many thanks to Julia. She must have worked so hard to make the day the success it was. The food was delicious – have you ever been faced with a choice of lasagnes – beef, vegetarian, gluten free and then an onion free beef lasagne, as well as poached salmon, a chicken and bean casserole and a wide selection of salads. Not forgetting the desserts, cheese, wine and punch!

Wendy Robbins from Swansea Quilters managed a sales table with items donated by members, and Jackie Pugh was in charge of manning the Project Linus Quilts.

The day was well supported with Quilters from the area and it was a delight to spend time with like minded people and to support a worthy cause. I hope that Julia achieved her target of £500, and possibly more.
